Michelle Lim picks up BTA plum

MICHELLE Lim trailed the tracks of Bowling Tenpin Association (BTA) Men’s Bowler of the Month Manny Tiu after similarly breezing through the tough six-game elimination round to take a cakewalk through the BTA January Bowler of the Month-Ladies final.
With a blazing 1,301-pinfall elimination round, Lim clinched the No.1 spot going into the up-the-ladder finals and a quick ticket to the championship match as a bonus.
As with the previous monthly winners, Lim, who had to wait for an opponent to emerge from the first two matches of the championship round, kept the momentum going and utterly dominated the championship, 180-169, over Elaine Uy.
Lim nabbed the P1,500 top purse while Uy pocketed P1,000.
Earlier, Celi Adolfo, Bete Goyoco and Jacklyn Lim, who ranked fourth to sixth among the final-round qualifiers, met in Match 1, which Goyoco clinched with a four-point lead over Lim, 202-198.
Match 2 preceded the championship duel with Uy, the No.2 qualifier, finishing with a seven-point cushion over Jannifer Tan, 190-183, as Goyoco tailed 172 pinfalls.
