ORDERLY. Rotarian Eddie de Leon, a regular visitor at the Club Filipino golf course in Danao City and Richard Clarke, a British national, will be happy to know that the vehicular traffic at the Consolacion-Liloan highway is already smooth. No more traffic jams. This has been possible because traffic authorities in Consolacion and Liloan towns have assigned policemen and traffic enforces on the stretch of the highway from Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion to Bag-ong Dalan, Barangay Yati, Liloan. The assigned personnel strictly enforced traffic rules and regulations.

I believe the smooth flow of vehicular traffic is only temporary. The traffic jams will still recur. But it’s imperative that Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) officials should widen the highway to four lanes from Barangay Cansaga in Consolacion to Liloan.

OBSTRUCTION. While traffic officials perform their duties and responsibilities well at the Consolacion-Liloan highway, the Liloan municipal engineer is playing deaf and dumb to the complaints of residents at a seaside compound in Sitio Cumpang, Barangay Tayud, about a man-made obstruction on their road.

The store of a lot owner at the corner near the entrance has encroached on the road by more than a meter The other lot owners who have resthouses in the compound encounter difficulty getting inside for fear of hitting the store. The municipal engineer should issue a demolition order to the store owner.

The resthouse owners who are from Mandaue and Cebu Cities lamented that if Liloan town officials wouldn’t listen to their complaints, to whom shall they turn to.

BLOOD LETTING.The Rotary Club of Consolacion, in cooperation with the Regional Blood Coordinating Center, Philippine National Red Cross, and Consolacion Municipal Health Office, will conduct a blood-letting activity at the Knights of Columbus Pastoral Center, Consolacion, tomorrow, Feb. 12 starting at 8 a.m.

Club President Oliver Cruz enjoins all Consolacion Rotarians to be present at this annual club activity.

SCRIPTURE READING. Suggested reading of the Holy Bible for today is found in the Gospel according to St. Mark 7:14-23 “The things that make a person unclean,” and for Feb. 12—St. Mark 7:24-30 “A woman’s faith.”
