Cebu still trying to host arnis, dancesport By Jade S. Violeta
CEBU City Sports Commission Chairman Jona-than Guardo is trying to get the city to host the dance-sports and arnis events in the 22nd Southeast Asian Games next year which the Philippines will host.
The two sports are the newest addition to the biennial SEA Games.
Guardo said that aside from dancesports and arnis, he will also bid for the hosting of the mount-ainbike, triathlon and contact sports events.
“Dancesports is one of the sports that we want to host. This is a priority sport and I think we have a good chance of winning,” said Guardo.
He however explained that until now he still hasn’t received any feedback from the Philippine Olympic Committee regarding Cebu City’s bid.
“We haven’t received a response from the POC. Let’s just wait and see. Maybe after the elections they will respond to our bid,” Guardo added.
