SWU expands linkages, ties up with Thai school
Southwestern University (SWU) has announced that it expanded its foreign linkages.
It recently inked a deal with Prince Songkla University (PSU) in Phuket, Thailand for their courses in Tourism and Hotel and Restaurant Management.
Ted O. Madamba, Jr., SWU vice president for external affairs, said the two universities are going to have an academic collaboration for the two courses with the proposed student-exchange program.
Madamba added it would be a good exposure for the SWU students to experience the hospitality of the Thai and learn their system of education for the two courses.
Prof. Methi Sunbhanich, Piyanart Apithambundit, Pathummalai Pattaro from PSU suggested that professors of the universities will also have a one-month exchange program to further enhance their teaching techniques.
A memorandum of agreement will have to be signed by the two universities once the program has been finalized.
Madamba also said PSU is offering a masteral program in HRM and has invited the HRM faculty members of SWU to enrol in it.
