Serna: Westlife’s Turnaround, its best album to date By Roger Serna Sounds & Images
Last Saturday, Cebuana character actress Chanda Romero (she celebrated her birthday last week) together with the owners of Body & Sole Massage & Spa traveled to Cagayan de Oro city for the opening of the first branch outside of Cebu.
From the grapevine, S&I gathered that Chanda will also be travelling to nearby Dumaguete city for the same purpose towards the end of this month. For those who are still wondering, Chanda is the image model of Body & Sole.
She has graced the opening of the main spa as well as that of the blessing of the extension at Raintree Mall, not to mention those of the other branches.
With affordable prices for its services, Body & Sole has enjoyed the patronage of its clientele who hails from practically all walks of life. Best wishes!

The revival of Barry Manilow’s song Mandy by the very popular and the most successful boy band so far, Westlife, has renewed music lovers’ interest in the beautiful ballad. Of course, the fact that it’s Westlife that’s behind such revival is also, and could also be, the most important factor for the song’s second lease on life.
The song is actually the first single that was lifted from the group’s latest album Turnaround which immediately debuted at the number one spot upon release. Mandy has also hit the number one rung in no time at all.
After only five years in business, the quintet of Bryan, Shane, Mark, Nicky and Kian has unveiled its fifth studio album that fearlessly furthers Westlife’s artistic evolution.
The Irish quintet firmly believes that Turnaround, now available in CDs and cassettes under BMG Records (Pilipinas) Inc., is its best album to date and having gone this far makes the gents incredibly proud as their passion and love for Westlife as a group has remained 100 per cent intact.
Westlife is of course behind such hit songs as Fool Again, Flying Without Wings, My Love, Queen of My Heart and Unbreakable. The group’s success in a five-year span has made it surpass the chart and sales achievements of all other boy bands from different generations including Jackson Five, Take That, New Kids On The Block, Menudo and Boyzone.
If my informant is accurate, such success has given Westlife the opportunity to be listed in the Guinness Book of World Records as the only band that has topped the charts seven times in a row. Well, you can always verify that to be sure.
Now the question is: will the Westlife magic continue? Indicators tilt to the positive side.

Who would ever think that Kris Aquino’s Game KNB? will suffer in the ratings game? For a time it lorded over all programs and nobody dared being placed in the same slot as the said game show.
Well, times do change and so does the taste of televiewers. Perhaps by the time this piece comes out, you’ll no longer be seeing the bubbly game show host challenging the participants (lately with a hoarse voice) to give their best.
Has the competing program something to do with the plummeting of the game show’s rating? Or can we put the blame on the controversies surrounding the host herself?
How I wish I know the answer.
