Tisan rips Mandaue, ends losing streak By Rommel C. Manlosa
TISAN-ACN exorcised the ghost of its two-game slide as it scored its first win in three games by beating stubborn Mandaue City-TZO, 91-85, in the Open Division of the Guardo Sinulog Cup.
In the other games, DGL Trucks secured the No.1 slot after repulsing Karrly Love, 100-93, as Guardo Construction beat Decameron, 59-48, in the Division C action.
Lloyd Orteguesa was unstoppable as he scattered 25 markers while veteran Michael Dumdum provided tough defense to deny ex-PBA star Al Solis to score his usual numbers.
Mandaue City took control of the game in the opening quarter with Solis and Montoy Singson scoring at will. A 17-7 run put Mandaue ahead, 51-41, at the bend before Orteguesa lit the scoreboard for Tisan with a 19-0 counter in two minutes.
