Jewelers sweep Bukidnon cage finals

BRUCE Dacia again proved to be the most lethal weapon in M. Lhuillier Kwarta Padala-Cebu’s arsenal as he delivered 20 points to give the Cebu squad another title following a 92-83 victory over North Cotabato to sweep the Braves, 2-0, in the championship series for the 3rd Kaumolan Invitational basketball tournament Tuesday night in Malaybalay, Bukidnon.
It was tough for the Jewelers in the first 20 minutes of play as the Braves put up a gallant stand behind the efforts of David Cabrera and Bong Ramos, who waxed hot for North Cotabato.
“It was a tough game for us. We thought it would last until the final second of the game. But thanks to the big heart of Dacia and Jessie Lumantas – who did not let their teammates down,” said interim coach Eddie Ybañez.
