Speak out: Blame the politicians By Sam costanilla
Gubernatorial bet Gwen Garcia’s political opponents are now showing signs of insecurity and weakness. Their latest tirade against the Capitol’s anti-drug campaign is nothing but a cheap political gimmick.
Gwen, being the action officer of the anti-drug monitoring taskforce, is simply doing her task that involves explaining to the people the dangers of drug abuse and the need to get involved in the drive.
The taskforce’s visits to the towns and component cities have never become a political or campaign tool for Gwen. They can interview all those who have attended the meetings organized by the taskforce.
As to the anti-drug budget, I suggest Gwen’s detractors read Republic Act 9565 very thoroughly before assailing the allocation of Capitol funds for the purpose.
Her opponents’ attack on her visibility in the province means they are scared of her winnability in the May polls. That is the truth – otherwise, why would they insist that Gwen is doing early campaigning?
Of course, she isn’t campaigning prematurely; she’s simply doing her
job as action officer of the anti-drug drive.
I hope her nemesis are not coddling drug syndicates.
