Travel agents get extra commission when booking ‘Value Rate' promo
Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts is offering an extra five per cent commission for travel agents booking its published rate concept, Value Rate, until May 31.
This commission is in addition to the standard 10 per cent offered by the group and is applicable for travel agents making Value Rate reservations at any of the group’s 42 properties in the Asia Pacific and the Middle East.
When paying the full room rate at any of Shangri-La’s city hotels, Value Rate guests are entitled to complimentary benefits and privileges with no minimum stay including: unlimited broadband internet access where available, roundtrip airport limousine service, daily breakfast, dry cleaning and laundry service, local calls and late check-out at 6 p.m.
At the group’s resorts in the Philippines, Fiji, Malaysia and Singapore, guests paying the published rate also enjoy free benefits like: buffet dinner, use of non-motorized water sports, daily breakfast, laundry service, local calls, late check-out at 6 p.m. In addition, all fax and IDD calls will only be charged at cost.
Commenting on this program, Carmen Lam, Shangri-La group’s sales and marketing director, said: “Value Rate has always offered exceptionally good value and has been extremely well received by our customers. The additional five per cent commission reinforces our appreciation and support of travel agents for their integral part in driving business to our hotels.”
