Naga upsets Arabelle
NAGA Bits & Bytes scored a big upset in Division C of the 2004 Guardo Sinulog Cup after a come-from-behind 85-82 win over division-leader Arabelle at the San Nicolas Gym.
After playing catch up in the first three quarters, Naga Bits & Bytes erased a 10-point Arabelle lead with four minutes left in the game after Rogel Caloverde, who finished with 19 markers, led a 12-2 rally that tied the score for the first time at 70-all.
Naga Bits & Bytes’ defense held Arabelle’s scoreless for two minutes in the final quarter. Naga Bits & Bytes first tasted the lead at 75-73 through Joey Maquiling’s short jumper with 3:45 left.
Dong Montebon contributed to Naga’s comeback with 16 markers to stretch their lead to 79-74 after Montebon delivered a lay-up.

Arabelle, however, will still face No.2 team Shaok in the semifinals.
Finals
“We are preparing the team for the semis at the end of March. We are now studying our opponent Shaok, which is a very strong and tough team to beat. But we will do our best to beat them in the semis and hopefully it will get us to the finals,” said Castrodes, who has been Arabelle’s top gunner.
