Personal style
You’d think that magazines and dailies have had enough of fashion features until you realize that maybe it can still accommodate one variation. Bob Lim offers his take on the genre.
Real Fashion by Real People
Take for example Johnny Depp. He is arguably the sexiest guy alive in the planet today but the real person may not be the one you see in the many fashion spreads he appears in. In these shoots, he wears clothes chosen by fashion editors, with stylists interpreting how he ought to look like and photographers imposing their own visual take of the guy. To know his personal style, you may have to ask him to open his closet.
In this new series, we’re asking individuals (from ages six to 60) to do just that: Open their closet and show us their personal style. Without having to borrow clothes and accessories from boutiques and designers. Without having to shy away from revealing who they are. Without any apologies.
Locally, we take a closer look at Moncho Aliño, who is someone you won’t see coming until you come face-to-face with him. The 24-year old niño bonito of Monette Alino is quietly packing his bags to go Stateside this April to see what the outside world is like. He had finished a B.S. Psychology degree at San Carlos University and had a brief stint with a telecom company.
He’s likely to travel light, with a wardrobe that’s basically casual chic. Not being the showy type, he’s better appreciated up close. He’s fastidiously clean and smells good, to borrow his mom’s description of her cool offspring.
