THE University of the Visayas Green Lancers left no stone unturned as they thrashed NegOr-Prisaa, 104-78, yesterday at the University of San Carlos for an easy 2-0 start in the ongoing Central Visayas Regional Collegiate Athletic Association (Cvircaa).

Morsie Akad lit the scoreboard with 26 points while Mark Ababon provided 14 points to lead the Lancers in scoring.

Coach Elmer Cabahug shuffled his boys regularly fielding in a different five for every quarter as NegOr-Prisaa struggled against the towering champs.

Cat-quick guard Ed Oira provided the much-needed offense for NegOr-Prisaa as he dropped 18 hard-earned points as teammates Chris Diputado and Franco Salvino fired 13 apiece.

NegOr-Prisaa was forced to try their luck on outside shots as the dominating Lancers closed the paint.

UV will meet Bohol-Prisaa tomorrow for their last elimination game while NegOr-Prisaa will play Negros-Scuaa in the single round robin format before the next round commences.

Earlier, the Cebu-Prisaa women’s basketball team racked up the championship after sweeping Bohol-Prisaa in the best-of-three finals.

Meanwhile, the Cebu-Prisaa and NegOr-Prisaa rivalry continues when both undefeated volleyball squads face off for the title in both men and women’s divisions at the University of the Visayas at 9 a.m. today.

Cebu-Prisaa defeated Cebu-Scuaa in both men and women’s divisions yesterday while Negros-Prisaa conquered Bohol and Cebu-Scuaa to take the finals slot.

UV (104) – Akad 26, Ababon 14, Cabanes 9, Abelong 9, Pepito 9, Binongo 7, Bucao 7, Rodriguez 6, Mipaña 6, Berami 5, Quiñahan 3, Bongcaras 2, Sevilla 1. Negor-Prisaa (78) – Oira 18, Diputado 13, Salvino 13, Lazalita 9, Burgos 9, Lee 4, Calumba 4, Raymund 4, Glodove 2, Tan 2.
