ICT certification exam made
TO validate the competencies of information and communication technology (ICT) graduates, the European IT Service Center Foundation (EITSC) and the Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology (Cedf-it) entered into a memorandum of understanding (MOU) establishing a Philippine Information Technology General Certification Examination (Phil-IT GCE).
Building the Philippines as an outsourcing destination is dependent on its capability to develop its human resource, equipping and enabling it to respond to the demands of the rapidly growing and fast-moving ICT services sector, both domestically and internationally.
The Phil-IT GCE is aimed at measuring the preparedness, commitment and competence of the stream of new ICT graduates that seek to enter the professional world.
It also addresses the need for education institutions to keep abreast of the demands of industry; mitigating the qualification mismatch between the product of the Philippine educational system and the human resource requirements of the ICT industry.
