Sarong and goodnight By Jude A. Bacalso
Enjoy a two-page spread on J.A. Bacalso’s day-to-night summer picks: one sarong worn eight ways for scorching hot days, and what to pack for cold summer nights at the beach.
Packing for a summer weekend should be quick and easy. One piece that can do a multitude of jobs is what everybody is searching for…moisturizers that can be sunblocks, lipsticks that can go from mouth to cheeks to eyes, and the perfect beach coverup.
The sarong has come a long way from its native roots. Several prints and cuts later, the eight-in-one version comes of age. Wear a single set (of two separate pieces) an amazing eight ways (here only half these looks)…stretching that style factor to the optimal limit. The boys better leave their skimpy suits at home: this season, board shorts are all real men will wear.
At night, cover up a bit with pieces that travel well (no-wrinkle material) and have summer’s telltale signs: delicious color and botanical prints. Now there’s more room in your backpack to take home those trinkets at the flea market. Traveling light was never this fashionable.
