Lapu raid nets woman ‘pusher’

A FEMALE drugs suspect was arrested in Sitio Talisay, Barangay Maribago, Lapu-Lapu City last Wednesday.

Elements of the Crime Investigation and Detection Group, led by Senior Insp. Germano Mallari, conducted the raid against Susan Pangatungan.

They confiscated from the suspect 18 packs of white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, P540 cash and other drugs paraphernalia.

The search was made in the presence of barangay tanods Roel Mazo and Teodulo Zafra.
Regional Trial Court Branch 53 Judge Benedicto Cobrade issued the warrant.

Pangatungan will be charged with violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Last Tuesday, Alex Movera Sarocum was arrested in a checkpoint for allegedly transporting shabu to the southern town of San Fernando.

The San Fernando Police Station earlier received a call from a concerned citizen regarding the delivery of drugs from Cebu City to the town so they set up a checkpoint in Barangay Balud, where the suspect also hails.

Seized from Sarocum were 17 plastic sachets containing a white crystalline substance believed to be shabu, P29 in cash and a disposable lighter.

He is now detained at the town station, while police are preparing charges against him. (Lorreyanee Muntuerto, STC intern)
