Speak out: Strange Issue By John T. Carson, California
I agree that it is very unfortunate that Vice Gov. John-john Osmeña has been linked to the Perdido Lex issue and the pseudoephedrine shipment.
But don't you find it strange that all of these are coming out only now that John-john is running for governor? Don't you think this is a well-planned scheme to discredit him in time for the elections?
If you were to do something stupid, would you use your own people as dummies?
Would all of these have come out had he heeded his father’s advice not to run for governor but instead go for a congressional seat?
I met John-john 3-4 years ago. He was introduced to me in a mall.
But I have known his father, Sen. John Osmeña, for many years. He is a very respectable person. Thus, I do not think John-john, in his wildest dream, would involve himself in drug smuggling.
The young Osmeña has not been charged yet, so his political rivals should not use these as election issues. If he is found guilty later, then let the law prevail. But for now, he is innocent until proven guilty.
I am not a supporter of the Osmeñas, but it is very sickening to read the news online about all this brouhaha.
