Speak out: Trisikads in highways

I am disappointed to know that one of the possible reasons for the resignation of Citom Chairman Bobit Avila was because of Mayor Tommy Osmeña’s order to traffic enforcers not to apprehend trisikads that ply the national roads especially in the Inayawan area.

Disappointed because I feel that the mayor is setting aside law and order in the streets for politics.
Did the mayor sell his soul to the devil in exchange for more votes in the recently concluded elections?

With what he did, Osmeña certainly turned off many of his loyal supporters especially from the “middle class,” his strongest political base. He has forgotten that he is admired by the Cebuanos for his political will and firmness.

Meanwhile, there was also this report that Osmena has allowed tricycles, trisikads and ambulant vendors to ply the Cebu South Coastal Road.

As we Cebuanos say, “Naunsa na ni? Sigihon pa ta ni?
