Smart bags award

SMART Communications Inc. won two international awards in the inaugural Frost & Sullivan Asia Pacific Technology Awards held at the Shangri La Hotel in Singapore last May 27.

The only Philippine firm cited in the awards, Smart was recognized as the Asia Pacific Wireless Service Provider of the Year, and its internationally acclaimed Smart Load service was again chosen the Most Innovative Application of the Year.

“The specific criteria that were used in the judging process include… market share growth, revenue growth, product/service innovation and demonstrated contribution to the ICT (information and communication technologies) industry,” said Frost & Sullivan partner Manoj Menon in a letter to Smart president and chief executive officer Napoleon Nazareno.

Smart Load is the world’s first over-the-air electronic prepaid loading service.
