STI ties up with ABS-CBN on Halalan Quick Count

STI, the Philippines’ largest network of colleges, once again partnered with ABS-CBN, the nation’s largest television network, for the 2004 Halalan Quick Count.

For the third time, ABS-CBN chose STI to be its partner for the Halalan coverage to provide Filipinos early election results with emphasis on the correct sampling of votes to get the profile of how Filipinos voted nationwide, a statement said.

The 2004 Halalan Quick Count underscores STI’s thrust in ensuring that the election results are fair and honest by leading the quick tabulation result countdown.

“The first two years that we participated in the election quick count were painstaking. Yet, it has given us a sense of fulfillment that in our own little way, we made a noble job in providing fast and accurate results to the Filipinos,” said Mhel Garrido, events manager of STI Events Management Division.

ABS-CBN provided the software and infrastructure for use in the quick count, while STI mobilized its 12,000-strong student volunteers hailing from STI schools nationwide.

The STI Education Network consists of over 100 schools and learning centers in the Philippines and abroad, providing students access to the latest technology resources and hands-on training that meet the standards of academe and industry.
