International data storage firm targets Cebu
IMATION Corp., a global leader in the manufacturing of removable and supplier of magnetic and optical removable data storage media, will introduce to the Cebu market today its digital storage products for the improvement of corporate data centers, networks, small businesses and ordinary home users in terms of data storage back-up, archiving, security and protection.
From its origins as 3M’s data storage division, Imation has proven that it is an international technology leader since the introduction of the first data storage tape for computers more than 50 years ago.
Its expertise spans several critical areas—from high-quality tape coating to leading advanced capability in servo writing, media packaging, cartridge design and fabrication, optical thin film coating and material science, a statement said.
Imation employs more than 300 technology scientists and holds more than 300 patents for its products in the United States alone.
It is the only company solely focused on removable storage media, with an investment of over $500 million in research, development and capital.
