AFTER two Korean youngsters plundered the Youth Masters titles in the Girls and Boys divisions Tuesday, the Men’s and Women’s teams from the Philippines are making sure the visiting teams would not steal another title in the 33rd Boysen-Philippine Bowling Congress International Open at Green Valley Bowling Center in Pasig City.

Atba’s Jaymee Bautista scored 831 pinfalls yesterday to keep the Ladies Singles Class A lead, while TBAM’s Joan Yambao talied 826 for second place. Unique’s Dinah Basuel is No.3 with 825 pinfalls.

Team competition

In the team event, Liza del Rosario, Liza Clutario and Cecilia Yap combined for 1,315 pinfalls to raise the Philippine flag higher than the Korean squad’s Gye Min Young, Kim Hyo Mi and Koo Huyn Jee, who are 19 pins behind.

In the Ladies Class A team event, RP Youth’s Amielyn Sisperez, Angeli Lao and Ditas Red are the current leaders with 1,125 pinfalls, while PBA’s Sandra Enriquez, Nelia Santos and Susan San Diego are at second with 1,089 pinfalls.

Another PBA team made up of Santos, San Diego and Cecile Cuesta is at third with 1,076 pinfalls.

Meanwhile, in the Ladies Class O, Korean Koo Hyun Jee totaled 1,016 pinfalls to go ahead of second-placer Irene Benitez of PBAP, who had 958, and teammate Sharon Limansantoso, who toppled 943 pinfalls.
