THE town mayor of Bien Unido in Bohol Province was shot once in the nape as he stopped to greet two friends on his way home, after attending a sitio fiesta yesterday afternoon.

Mayor Felix “Lingging” Garcia, 47, is the second public official attacked in Bohol during the election period, following the foiled ambush last Feb. 13 on Bohol Gov. Erico Au-mentado.

Garcia was airlifted to Cebu, but died at 7:05 last night in the Mactan Doctors’ Hospital, less than four hours after he was shot.
