TOLEDO City -- Danny Capobres and Mawi Huelar scored half of Hapee’s total output and Ronald Paraiso added 19 to connive for a huge offensive surge against General Feeds Megamix, 83-68, and force a winner-take-all Game 3 in the final series of the 2004 CBF Carrier Summer League Friday night here.

Earlier, the Skygo Riders swept the battle for third series dumping Safety First Water Force, 76-65, with Joseph “Baby Shaq” Quiñahan and Ariel Mipaña topscoring with 19 and 12 points, respectively.

Hapee stepped up on defense in the first quarter after Joselito Celiz drilled an opening 3-pointer. After a fast exchange of baskets, the first canto ended, 25-18, in favor of the Sparkling Knights, who later lost focus in the second quarter after Aries Gloria was ejected with still eight minutes left when he retaliated for a foul by GMC’s Alex Cainglet.

With the Hapee coaching staff unhappy with the calls and the players disorganized, GMC stole the lead, scoring 23 points over Hapee’s 12 points in the second quarter to end the first half, 41-37.

In the third canto, the full court press of the Sparkling Knights held the Feeds Masters scoreless in the first three minutes before Alfie Grijaldo broke their silence. But Mega Mix struggled the whole period mustering a meager 13 points, while Hapee started shooting 3 points by Celiz, Paraiso and Huelar to enter the final quarter with a five-point lead, 59-54.

Hapee opened the fourth quarter with Huelar firing two consecutive triples. CK Daruca fired back a with another trey for GMC, Nemenzo fueled another uprising with his own triple pointer that stretched their lead, 68-59, with five minutes left in the game.

Feeds Masters Ryan Clarmade matters worse when he was sent out of the game for a hard foul on Capobres. Two ttechnical fouls were slapped on the Mega Mix coaching staff sending Hapee to the stripe six times to widen the gap, 77-59.

Hapee (83) -- Capobres 24, Paraiso 19, Huelar 17, Ignacio 9, Celiz 6, Nemenzo 3, Gloria 3, Tundag 2. GMC (68) -- Grijaldo 14, Saladaga 12, Cainglet 11, Lanete 9, Mangubat 5, Gabas 4, Daruca 3, Concha 3, Clar 3, Ursal 2, Malinao 2.
