Serna: ‘Handurawan’ tomorrow
By Roger Serna
Sounds & images

So where were you yesterday when Cebu City and practically the entire country were agog over the oathtaking and inauguration of our new President and Vice President (and perhaps also other local officials whose proclamation had been stalled by one reason or another)?

Now, after all the excitement and everything that went with it have more or less settled down, we hope all things are also on their way to being normal once again. It’s time for us to move on, for the country to move forward for our own good.

Though not really that easy, let’s just try. Let the past bury their dead (or words to that effect), as the saying goes, so we can start working (hopefully, as one) for our betterment. Shall we start now? Okay. On your mark, get set, go!

So tomorrow’s the day of the staging of “Handurawan,” the concert featuring Cebu’s pride both in the field of entertainment and medicine, Dr. Warfe Engracia, and Cebuana diva who needs no further introduction, Dulce.

“Handurawan,” which will be held at the Grand Convention Center, will showcase a bolder and more daring Warfe in terms of entertainment values.

He’s not only out to prove he can sing other types of songs, other than what his growing fans used to listen to, but also that he has the talent, energy and stamina. He’s out to surprise the audience, he swears. There’s only one thing to find out the veracity of his statements: to watch the show.

Dulce, on the other hand, is expected to showcase her trademark, that is, belting out challenging pieces with ease and poise. Oh yes, she might also complement Dr. Engracia’s daring by doing some unexpected onstage antics herself.

Since this is a fundraiser of the Regional Blood Coordinating Council, you’ll be doing a good deed on top of seeking to be entertained. So be there when you’re needed most.

Ticket reservations can be coursed through 255-5969.
