Cedf-it slates test in C++ programming By Cedf-it Corner
THE Cebu Educational Development Foundation for Information Technology (Cedf-it) has slated the second of its series of pilot tests and validation exams, this time on C++ programming, for Aug. 14 at the University of Southern Philippines (USP).
The C++ pilot test is a one hour and 30-minute written examination covering, among others, testing maintenance, data abstraction, expressions and statements, input/output, control statements, iteration, memory organization, arrays and pointers, strings, recursion, classes and objects.
This activity, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (Cida) through its Pearl2 Project, forms part of Cedf-it’s collaborative effort with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (Tesda) and the Software Productivity Center of Canada, to establish professional certification standards and assessment instruments initially in five areas: Java, C++, Visual Basic, CADD and Networking.
Boost hiring
The certification exam seeks to boost the hiring of competent IT practitioners.
For employers, this means reduced re-training costs. For prospective employees, it means higher chances of employability.
Cedf-it has endeavored to set up professional standards and assessment instruments that will determine the proficiency of IT practitioners in Cebu.
Toward this end, it has launched the Cedf-it Professional Certification, Training, and Review Center at the Asiatown IT Park in Apas, Cebu City.
The deadline for test application is Aug. 11. For the pilot testing, the fee is P150. For application forms, interested parties may call Liza at 412-7694 to 95.
