Moneywise: Garage sale

HAVING a garage sale every now and then will help you remove the clutter from your household, as this will enable you to dispose of unnecessary items. It also means extra income, according to Henry Mercader.

Mercader earlier had a garage sale, wherein he sold to his neighbors at prices as low as P20, old toys and clothes of his already grown-up children, books, bags, shoes, folders, candleholders, caps, blankets, and kitchen utensils, among others.

For her part, housewife Romelinda Cañete said she doesn’t mind buying old toys for her young children from Mercader’s garage sale because her family knows the Mercaders and the toys are still in good shape. JBN
