Western Wats does research for firms

“In the usual call center, representatives receive calls from different people in different parts of the world. Western Wats is another thing – we call people,” Western Wats president Chris Mangelson said.

Western Wats started operations in 1987 with Utah, USA as its main point. The largest independently owned market research data collection company in the US conducts market research for many prominent businesses worldwide.

“Big companies and businesses worldwide consult us to do surveys and studies to determine their market and get feedback from their own consumers. A big shopping mall for example asks us to call the local residents within its area and ask them what they think of its service, products, shops and everything within the mall. We then give the feedback to the company,” Mangelson explained.

Western Wats does almost all types of research. It does concept testing on new products to find out what the consumers think and how they perceive a new product in terms of price, quality and what kind of product they like to purchase. Mangelson said companies want to produce because their main purpose is for their product or service to click, which is why they ask the assistance of research groups such as Western Wats to do the job for them.

Less hassle

“We take out the hassle from big companies because with us, they no longer have to conduct research and surveys on their own. They do not have to hire people to go around and ask consumers. We definitely do it for them, through the Wide Area Telephone System. Plus we have friendly, professional and hardworking individuals who know how to handle people well,” Mangelson added.

With over 1500 employees and 12 locations around the intermountain west, Western Wats strongly believes that goals can be accomplished more by working together as a team.

“Our agents are very willing to do the work. They group together as a team and set a goal to finish a project. We already have plenty of projects accomplished.”

Western Wats is currently hiring more agents to join its team. Anyone articulate in the English language, friendly, hardworking and smart is encouraged to apply.

The firm does not have shifting schedules.
