LAST Saturday, I saw this brand new black SRP police pick-up on the left-turn-only lane at the intersection of Gorordo Ave. and Escario St. and this is what he did:
First he went straight and then, this one is worse, he breezed through a stop for that lane.
I am writing this because this was not the first time I saw it. A month ago, the same thing happened at the same intersection.
It’s not hard to miss the car because it has an SRP police marking. Can anyone from the Cebu City Government or the PNP explain why this car gets to do these things and get away with them?
If you think about it, most of our jeepney and taxi drivers do most of these things and they also get away with them. Which makes me wonder: Is the driver of this police car a former PUJ driver? Or is he just power-tripping since he has this cool black SRP police car?
I would like to remind our officials and this SRP driver that when you are in a public service, you are not above the law. You are supposed to uphold the law and not break it.
How do you expect the people of Cebu to respect your office if you do these things? How can you expect the people to uphold the law if the people who are supposed to uphold it, like you, break the rules anyway?
