CFIF holds trainings on furniture production

The Cebu Furniture Industries Foundation, Inc. (CFIF) is holding trainings and workshops that enhance the proficiency and productivity of the manpower source of the furniture industry.

“Built to Last: Furniture Construction and Joinery” is currently being conducted until Aug. 13 at the Don Bosco Technology Center in Labangon. Resource persons are Ramil Quiapo, CFIF in-house consultant, and industry expert and CFIF consultant Engr. Peter Viehbeck (DED – German Development Service).

“Veeners & Veneering: Concepts, Processes and Applications” is slated on Aug. 24-27, 1-6 p.m. at the Don Bosco Technology Center and the Wopac Training Center in Talisay city. This is partly sponsored by Alwana Wood Products, Inc. of Cagayan de Oro city. Resource persons are Quiapo and Viehbeck. Seminar fee is P3,000.

Other CFIF trainings lined up for the month of September are: “Philippine Environmental Impact Study (EIS) System” on Sept. 10; “Surface Finishing on Indigenous Materials Coating” on Sept. 14-15 sponsored by Sparko/ Intelchem Phils.; “Environmental Management System (EMS) Awareness Seminar” on Sept. 24.

CFIF members are enjoined to take part in these activities; non-members may also participate with a 10% premium on top of the participation fee.
