A Winner of Excellence in Cinematography in the 2004 Sundance Film Festival, Imelda traces the life of former Philippine First Lady Imelda Romualdez-Marcos.
First showing starts at 11:30 a.m. followed respectively at 1:30, 3:30, 5:30, 7:30 and 9:30 p.m.
Lobby display winner
Meanwhile, SM Cinema Cebu was recently adjudged by Columbia Pictures International as the winner of the King Arthur lobby display. The contest was open exclusively to all SM Cinemas nationwide on the duration of the running dates of the movie King Arthur last July.
“It’s high time film distributors recognized the pivotal role theater exhibitors play in ensuring the commercial success of a movie,” says Victor Cabrera, general manager of Columbia Pictures International. SM was awarded with a cash prize.
The establishment was also among the top 10 national grossers of the movie, Spider-Man 2, said Cabrera. The 10 cinemas that posted the highest-grossing receipts for Spider-Man 2 within the first 28 days of release received cash prizes. SM Cinema Cebu was the only provincial theater that got into the top 10 exhibitors for this particular movie.
“We’d like to challenge the exhibitors to break their own box-office records set by the first Spider-Man by going beyond their own marketing and operational support,” adds Cabrera. Five other SM Cinemas in the capital region bagged the highest sales gross for the said flick.
