SupahSarah

Model/celebrity/VJ/Swiss-Filipina stunner. Can she actually add bisaya to that, too? Kara Mae Muga Noveda spills.

Sarah has, in her own bold words, "everything out in a sterling silver platter:" So gratefully gushes the MTV Pilipinas video jockey. Standing near six feet, this half-Swiss miss is at the prime of her youth, and already occupied with so many slashes.

Sarah Meier is an international model slash fashion diva slash TV celebrity slash host for MTV. Speaking Filipino in an acceptable syntax is what she believes what she had to accomplish first in being able to establish a rapport with the local audience. Simply not succumbing to an entertainment industry overran by twangs of fair half-Filipinos, her efforts to reach out make her all the more endearing.

Schooled by the world itself and sent off to other countries for modeling stints since she was fourteen, Sarah (who never got to cap a college diploma) is wise in concluding that education should not be confined within four walls, that all the world's a classroom anyway.

"Strips, borders, nations...they are no dividing boundaries for me. There's just so much beauty out there," she says with a sigh. Sweetly, this cosmopolitan traveler is quick to add that despite all her foreign exposure, she "stays more Pinay than Swiss."

Surprise of surprises: not a lot of people know that she is also part-Bisaya. Her mother (supermodel Elektra) hails from the Camotes island. She's likewise grown familiar to the dialect by way of her childhood yaya's stories.

Seeing and hearing the Cebuano singing prowess live for her show, she lauds their daring. "As a VJ, I just go out and talk to people but these contestants go out and practically stand there naked for the judges' scrutiny," Sarah remarked.

So much for reality shows, we have more than a couple of them. But Sarah (on or off the cameras) keeps up with her real life passion, that's not far-fetched from her chosen job description.

Singing to her favorite Hip-hop and R&B music, showcasing fashion's latest, and screaming for her basketball team are the prime things that keeps her on the go.

Soon after her show and before our interview, some starstruck kids wave and shout from the sidelines. Sarah turns her head, smiles, and waves in return as a seasoned supahstar should.
