Wednesday, September 01, 2004 Yuvallos tops Class A
VICTOR Yuvallos took the limelight by snagging the most prestigious plum in the Cebu Country Club August Monthly Medal Tournament Saturday.
Sporting a 10-point handicap, Yuvallos delivered a net score of 67 strokes to claim the event’s Class A ( 0-11 handicap) crown over eventual group runner-up Masaya Hishida, who registered a 69 net.
The Class B (12-18 handicap) title went to Jack Chui, who came up with a 64 net to wrest the title over second-placer Toshiyuki Haga (65).
Class C
Alvin Lim bagged the Class C crown with a net 62, beating runner-up Elro Delos Reyes (67) by a stroke.
The Guest division plum, on the other hand, ended up in Enrico Solon’s hands after he registered a net 66.
The divison’s runner-up slot went to Doli Cabahug, who won the spot via countback after he and eventual division second runner-up Oscar Sanchez posted identical 68 strokes.
Edgar Chiongbian, on the other hand, bagged the Seniors crown with a 65-point net, which edged out Luis Velez’ 68-point performance.
Under the direction of CCC golf chairman Montito Garcia, the tournament was co-presented by Cebu Pacific and Shell Philippines, which provided the hold-in-one prizes.
The tournament, which gathered over 150 participants, was also co-sponsored by the Badboys of CCC led by Mike Jo. (GCM)
