60-yr.-old grandma caught in drug raid
LAPU-LAPU City police arrested a 60-year-old grandmother and seized shabu and sniffing paraphernalia during a raid in her house last Thursday afternoon.
Felisa Aying was arrested because the illegal items were found in her house in Sitio Soong, Barangay Mactan. The main target of the raid, Antonio “Jiji” Inoc, eluded arrest. Inoc is Aying’s live-in partner.
Injured cop
Task Force Sagittarius Chief SPO4 Geoffrey Baguio said Inoc was the subject of the warrant issued by Judge Benedicto Cobarde.
Police raided the house Thursday at 4:48 p.m.
SPO2 Rolito Jumao-as was injured after his left foot slipped into a hole. He was later declared safe.
Aying watched as police seized five jumbo packs and five small packs of suspected shabu, P2,900 cash believed to be proceeds of the illegal trade, and shabu sniffing paraphernalia from her house.
Jumao-as said the jumbo packs weighed about five grams each while the small packs weighed a gram each.
Under surveillance
Police are now preparing illegal possession of drugs and illegal possession of sniffing paraphernalia against Aying, now detained, and Inoc, who still remains at large.
Baguio said Aying’s house had been under surveillance since last week. After they confirmed the illegal activity, police applied for a warrant.
Jumao-as said Inoc was at the yard tending to his fighting cocks at the time of the raid. He has around 20 fighting cocks, one of which won in a “tigbakay” that day.
Inoc was with his friends when the policemen arrived. The group fled at the sight of the raiding team.
2nd incident
Jumao-as chased Inoc up to a rugged terrain unfamiliar to the police officer and accidentally stepped on a hole. He was wounded on the knee.
Inoc escaped as the bleeding Jumao-as returned to Aying’s house.
It was the second time this month that police arrested a senior citizen for drugs.
Friday last week, the same team raided the house of Benedicta Gon-zales, 70, in Barangay Sta. Rosa in Olango Island.
The team recovered packs of shabu and sniffing paraphernalia.
Gonzales was charged with illegal possession of drugs and sniffing paraphernalia. (OCP)
