Surprise teams Baby Warriors, Jr. Webmasters take court

THE University of San Carlos Baby Warriors are fast becoming a revelation this season with a 3-1 record in the Junior division of the 2004 Cebu Schools Athletics Foundation Inc. (Cesafi) basketball tournament.

Currently tied with the University of the Visayas Baby Lancers, who beat them in their first game this season, the Baby Warriors are poised to bolt the tie as they encounter the inexperienced Cebu Eastern College Dragons today.

In the other Junior game, the undefeated University of Cebu Junior Webmasters, another surprise performer, take on the unpredictable University of Southern Philippines Baby Panthers in what is expected to be a fiery match-up.

The Junior Webmasters are coming off a big win against the defending champion Baby Lancers, and a win will further distance UC from the rest of the field.

Win-hungry teams Don Bosco Technology Greywolves and University of San Jose-Recoletos Baby Jaguars, meanwhile, face each other in a match-up of struggling teams.

In the Senior division, the Panthers, arguably the most hardworking team of the season, clash against the Webmasters, who are still smarting from a frustrating 96-94 loss to the Warriors.
