THE Don Bosco Technical School 3 booters took a step closer to the semifinals with an emphatic 6-0 win over Sacered Heart School-Jesuit 3 Saturday in the Under-7 division of the 8th Aboitiz Cup.

In the other U-7 games, CIS and DBTC 6 settled for a scoreless draw to keep its No.1 spot in Group A while DBTC 1 thrashed sister team DBTC 4, 8-1, in Group B.

DBTC 3, a game behind CIS in Group A, nabbed its second win of the Aboitiz Group Foundation Inc.-backed event to get a form hold of the No.2 spot and good position of taking the lead in on its next game.

Bunghanoy scored half of his teams offensive output with goals in the first, 12th and 16th minutes while Niño Geraldizo crashed in goals in the seventh and ninth, and Jeon Ilagan capped the rout with a goal in the 18th.

DBTC 3 is way ahead of current No. 3 team DBTC 6, which logged one win, one draw and two losses in four games in the tournament organized by the Cebu Football Association and sanctioned by the Philippine Football Federation as part of the two bodies’ youth development program.

DBTC 1, on the other hand, moved from fourth to third with its latest win.

Adriane Covero hit the back of the net in the seventh, 11th and 12th to lead his team to its first victory after suffering a first-game defeat last weekend.

Andrea Roa and Mesina had a goal in the first and 17th, respectively, while Jose Nadal scored in the 14th and 18th. DBTC 4’s Augis, meantime, made a costly blooper after deflecting the ball to his own goal in the fourth while teammate Jue Paradiang made the only goal for their team in the fourth.
