Uytiepo to vie in Singapore Marathon

VETERAN runner Raffy Uytiepo will banner the country anew when he and and Iloilo City’s one-legged wonder Rudy Fernandez take part in the $140,000 Singpore Marathon this December.

Before the Singapore event Uytiepo, who was named to the national team earlier, was supposed to compete in the upcoming 13th Asian Masters Athletics Championships alongside his teammates on Dec. 1-5 in Bangkok, Thailand, but turned down the event in favor of the Singapore race.

“I’m honored to be selected in the Bangkok trackfest but the Singpore marathon would have to be my priority as I’ll be joining the country’s best marathoners,” said Uytiepo. JSV
