2 nuns lose laptop, watches to burglars

TWO nuns lost a P75,000 laptop computer and three wristwatches to unidentified burglars last Saturday morning in a guesthouse in Barangay Camputhaw, Cebu City.

On the same day, a woman who lived nearby also lost her P18,800 cellular phone and cash to her fellow boarder.

At 8:45 a.m., Sr. Maria Bernaldez, 50, and Sr. Carmelita Buot, 47, discovered that the six wooden louver blades of the window to their stairway at the guesthouse of the Perpetual Succour Hospital were already removed.

When the two entered their bedroom, they noticed that some of their belongings were already missing.

Bernaldez lost an Acer laptop computer worth P75,000 and an Anne Klein wristwatch.

Buot told investigators at the Theft and Robbery Section that she lost a European wristwatch, a Timex wristwatch and a chapel key.

Earlier at 6:20 a.m., Lolita Sesuelos, 22, said she was taking a bath when her boardmate Joel Vanyados sneaked into her bedroom and stole some of her cash and cellphone.

She reported to the Theft and Robbery Section that Vanyados stole her P18,000 cell phone and her leather wallet containing P440 cash and several documents from her room in a boarding house along Gorordo Ave., Barangay Camputhaw.

Sesuelos said she left the door to her room unlocked when she went to take a bath.

When they looked for Vanyados, a local of Carmen, Bohol, he already left, as his room was emptied of his clothes and other belongings. MEA
