Costanilla: Bo’s Coffee invades Tagbilaran
By Sam Costanilla

Bo’s Coffee Club, a leading specialty coffee bar, is indeed growing, figuratively and literally, with the opening of its 18th branch. The latest branch to open is at the upper ground floor, east wing of Island City Mall in Tagbilaran city, Bohol.

In an interview with this writer and other media practitioners from Cebu who were purposely invited to the branch opening, franchise owner Virginia Du (of the Du Ek Sam fame) emphasized that her passion for coffee enticed her to open a Bo’s Coffee Club branch in Bohol.

“As an ordinary customer, I have seen and felt that Bo’s Coffee Club has a very organized system. Their hassle-free system has caught my attention after having been to Bo’s competitors,” Du explained. She also told us that she is making sure that they have a fresh supply of pastries that usually go with coffee.

Coffee Centrale president Steve Benitez who was also at the occasion told us that aside from the Tagbilaran city branch, Bo’s Coffee Club would soon open three more outlets before the year ends. These branches will be in Tacloban, Batangas and Bacolod.

“We only use homegrown coffee – about 95% of our beans comes from Bukidnon and Benguet,” Benitez stressed. “Obviously, our industry is a big help to the local farmers in those two provinces,” he added.

The Bo’s Coffee Club Tagbilaran city branch opening was highlighted with the “coffee toast” done by Du, her husband Edcel, Benitez, Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Lim and marketing manager Rey Cabatingan.

Bo’s Coffee Club continues to attract coffee drinkers in places where it has existing outlets, with the one inside Ayala Center Cebu as the very first. All branches continue to serve the general public the best coffee in style and class, in warm ambience, yet their prices are so affordable. So every time you crave for your favorite coffee, drop by Bo’s Coffee Club. I do – it’s already a habit.
