Speak out: A plea to God
By Nonoy Castillon

Dearest Father,

Liberate us from the evil one that keeps us apart. Remove every trace of sin that stains us.

Holy One, put a stop to all the evil doings in our society, to graft and corruption, tax fraud, bribery, smuggling, money laundering, manufacturing and trafficking of illegal drugs, oppression, violation of human rights, exploitation, prostitution, terrorism, theft and robbery and murders and killings.

Great One, how much longer will the wicked people of our country satisfy and be pleased for themselves? How much longer will criminals be proud and boast about their crimes? How much longer, O, God?

Compassionate God, they crush your people; they destroy, kill, murder, exploit, oppress, corrupt, rob and terrorize those who belong to you.

Righteous God, you are the judge of us all; you are a God who punishes; reveal your anger; rise and give judgment to the evildoers of this land.

Gracious Father, restore truth, justice and peace; recreate our country the Philippines.

Eternal Father, change our hearts, transform our lives, reconcile us with you, fill us with your Holy Spirit, heal us, O, loving God.

Heavenly Father, have mercy on us, listen to our prayer and answer us.

We are calling you in the mighty name of Jesus your only Son with the Holy Spirit, who reigns with you, One God, forever and ever. Amen.
