Cebu Province plays for survival
GAME TODAY (Quezon Convention Center)
5 p.m. – Quezon Coco Huskers vs. Lactovitale-Cebu Province
LACTOVITALE-CEBU Province boosted its line-up late in the elimination and now its new recruits must deliver as the Probiotics visit Quezon Province in the United Regional Basketball League at the Quezon Convention Center in Lucena City today.
The game marks the closing of the elimination round with the winner joining M. Lhuilllier Kwarta Padala-Cebu City, Ilocos Sur and Harbour Centre-Pampanga in the semifinals starting Nov. 17.
Both teams are tied with 2-5 win-loss cards and the Probiotics are seeking a repeat of its 82-77 win over the Huskers last Sept. 25 at the Cebu Coliseum.
But this time, the Huskers are slightly favored with its homecourt advantage and another record crowd is expected to pack the venue.
The Huskers are coming off a heartbreaking 81-85 setback to the Ilocos Sur Snipers last Nov. 7.
Egay Echavez and Arnold Booker, who averages 16.5 and 14.6 points, respectively, will lead the Huskers together with wingmen Jomar Tierra (11.3 ppg) and Buboy Rodriguez (10.6 ppg) and center Larry Rodriguez (12.0 ppg). (RCM)
