Gregory, Bohol bet dispute crown
MARK Gregory and Boholano bet John Albert Ferrule face off today for the high-school crown of the P190,000 Sun.Star Superbalita 9-Ball Championships at Padics Pool Hall.
The two will tussle it out for the P5,000 top purse in one of the toughest pool contests in the City.
On the other hand, defending champion Arnulfo Carungay settled for the fourth place after losing to Junrey Nicanor in the battle for third. It was a dismal exit for Carungay after earlier losing to Ferrule in the semifinals.
In the Elementary division, Keith Seymour Manyan will face Marciano Bacalso for the crown after both won their semifinal assignments.
Sahor Guinolongan, meantime, redeemed himself after defeating Kentjie Espina for the third place.
After the high-school contest, the Class A players clash for the P75,000 winner’s purse, one of the biggest prizes in national pool events. The Class B division, meanwhile, dangles a P20,000 top prize.
Antonio Gabica, who is expected to defend his title, took the Class A diadem last year. (ML)
