Georg.
Sun.Star Sunday columnist Melanie T. Lim writes from the heart delving into day to day concerns, sharing insights, observations, apprehensions, and what have you! And her writing style? Oh defi nitely, it is a “wake-upper”.... easy- reading and thought-provoking, direct and delightful, candid and convincing, heartfelt and honest!
Her fi rst book “Wide Awake” (a compilation of selected Sun.Star columns) was launched at Cafe Georg on a lovely Saturday afternoon with family, friends and fans in full attendance. Oh yes, her Sun.Star family was well represented with the editor-in-chief himself, lawyer Pachico Seares, and Sun.Star general manager Orlando Carvajal leading the group.
A homegrown Cebuana, Melanie attended the Sacred Heart School for Girls, the University of San Carlos and the University of the Philippines. She is a certifi ed public accountant and holds asters degrees in Business Management and English Language Teaching.
Writing is one of her passions and she was awarded the 2000 Cebu Archdiocesan Mass Media Award (CAMMA) for Best Column for her article “Courage, women” published in Sun.Star on March 8, 2000. (NGN)
