ALA Boys to fight in Pacman card

WHILE all the attention focused on the gigantic match-up between Filipino ring icon Manny Pacquiao and Fahsan 3-K Battery, four aspiring Cebuano boxers will fight in the undercard in “Yanig sa Taguig” at The Fort this Saturday.

Leading the Cebuano chargers who will be out to gain a share of the limelight is New Generation ALA Boy Z Gorres, one of Freddie Roach’s protégés, who will fight Chaiyong Distar for 10 rounds.

Joining Gorres is former RP super-bantamweight champion Reynald Tribo, who will take on Joebar Damosmog for eight rounds, while Rollen del Castillo will face Steve Dimaisip in a six-rounder.

Bobby challenger

The fourth Cebu-based pug, Dexter Delada, who was supposed to challenge Bobby Pacquiao for the RP super-featherweight title, will be pitted against Arnel Porras for 10-rounds after the younger Pacquiao injured his arms in training two weeks ago.

The winner of the Delada-Porras fight will face the Bobby Pacquiao for the national title.

Meanwhile, 12-round eliminator bout between Pacquiao and Fahsan may well end up way before the 12th round after both camps promised knockout wins.

Pacquiao, who holds 38-2-2 win-loss-draw record peppered with 29 KOs, said the fight would not go beyond the third round. On the other hand, Fahsan, who has beaten at least 20 Filipinos in his career, sports a 44-7-1 (23KOs) record, and would love to include the People’s featherweight champion and Ring Magazine Boxer of the Year, Pacquiao, in his credentials.
