CETBA bowler of year: Genson takes 2nd title in a row
By Karla I. Paner

PRECY Genson rolled just two pins more than Jeanette Cabiasa’s 188 pinfalls to bag her second consecutive Cebu Tenpin Bowling Association (Cetba) Ladies Bowler of the Year title after Friday night’s championship at the SM City-Cebu Bowling Center.

With the win, Genson became the most successful lady Cetba bowler with five Bowler of the Year titles. Friday’s victory would have been her fifth consecutive had she won the 2002 title.

Genson had a twice-to-beat edge in the championship match over Cabiasa, who was the September bowler of the month champion.

Awarding ceremony

Second runner-up was Tess Regino, the May titleholder, while third runner-up was Inday de Gracia, the December winner.

Trophies and cash prizes will be awarded to the winners during Cetba’s Christmas party on Dec. 14 at the Casino Español de Cebu.

Other qualifiers of the year-end tournament were Cathy Lee, Baby Bacon, Vivian Padawan, Lucy Lanceta, Beth Ngo and Anna Cabiasa.

The Cetba Ladies Bowler of the Year winners were Cynthia Kua (1998 and 2003), Cynthia Uybengkee (1999). and Genson (2000-2001, 2003-2004).
