Gen. Feeds win away from grand slam title
GENERAL Feeds Mega Mix banked on the heroics of veteran wingman Ronald Paraiso to draw first blood in the best-of-three championship series for the CBF 2004 Commissioner’s Cup.
Mega Mix scored a 100-91 overtime win over guest team Lactovitale Probiotics at the Minglanilla Sports Complex Saturday night to move just a game away from winning the first-ever grand-slam title of the league.
“At least, the pressure is taken off my back. Winning Game 1 is very important to the players, who were also tasked to win the grand slam,” said Manalili.
Paraiso had a breakout game as a Feeds Master with a team-high 18 points.
In the opening game, Hapee Toothpaste also survived a thrilling game following a 75-73 win over Safety First Drinking Waters also in Game 1 of the Bes-of-3 series for third place.
