Police tests hubby for drugs

JAPANESE national Hiroyuki Hasegawa underwent more examinations in relation to last Sunday’s death of his wife.

Hasegawa, 42, had a drug test yesterday done by the PNP 7 Crime Laboratory on the request of Cebu City Homicide Police, the investigating unit.

Hasegawa also submitted hair samples to compare with the strands the Scene of the Crime Operations found inside the room of his wife, Katherine Serreno-Hasegawa.

Earlier, the National Bureau of Investigation 7 gave Hasegawa a polygraph test.

Hasegawa said he found Katherine already dead in her bedroom at the Kingston building on M. Velez St., Cebu City Sunday morning.

He said he forced open the door because he was worried when nobody answered his knock.

Hasegawa, of Yama-nashi, Japan, has been held for questioning by the homicide police. SPO1 Zenaido Pastorfide clarified Hasegawa, who has been cooperative in the investigation, is not under arrest.

Considering that Ka-therine lost cash and valuables, based on Hasegawa’s statement, Pastorfide said they are inclined to believe she was a victim of robbery and rape.

Katherine’s family also arrived yesterday from Iloilo City and proceeded to the Cebu Rolling Hills Memorial Homes in Banilad, Mandaue City were her body lies in state. (JST)
