Sally Mae to receive incentive from City

For the honor she won during her stint in Malaysia, Sally Mae Siso, one of Cebu’s top junior netters, will receive a cash incentive from the Cebu City Sports Commission.

This was announced by CCSC chairman Jonathan Guardo, who pledged to give a cash incentive to Team Cebu City-Tennis member Siso after the latter bagged back-to-back titles in the Malaysian International Open Junior Tennis Tournament in Langkawi City, Malaysia.

Guardo said Siso’s feat will serve as a model to all TCC members to do better since the Sports Commission has promised to give financial support to members who will participate in international competitions.

Thankful

“Sally Mae made not just the city but also the country proud. We hope that her victory will encourage other TCC members to do better and on our part we assure to provide cash incentives to the awards they will bring home,” said Guardo.

Sally Mae’s supportive father, Dino, who is also acting as her coach, expressed his gratitude to Guardo, the Cebu City Government and Dunlop for their continued support to all his children.

“We are very grateful to Mr. Guardo and the City Government for their non-stop support especially to Sally Mae in her last competition. We offer our victory also to them and to the city,” said Dino, adding that the Siso siblings will still be training even during the Christmas season.

Guardo also asked the Sisos to prepare a list of international competitions that they plan to participate next year.

“We encourage all athletes to pass a list of their individual competitions for next year so that we can include them in our yearly budget,” said Guardo.
