Charter change, disasters ‘in the cards’ for 2005, says popular card reader

WHAT will 2005, or the Year of the Rooster, bring us?

A known local card reader believes that since the number five represents marriages and production, it will be advisable to wed, start a family and build a house this year.

Bro. Cirilo “Eloy” Arepal said 2005 will also be a year of change and improvements, so it will be good to pursue a business or perhaps, start the shift in the form of government.

Although Arepal always emphasizes that people should focus on faith, rather than on his forecasts, he remains one of the most popular card readers in Cebu City.

Arepal said the cards show that if the administration and opposition could work together for the welfare of Filipinos, the Constitutional Convention could push through this year.

Like his warning for the surge of calamities resulting in sudden deaths in 2004, Arepal said this year will still have its share of disasters.

Arepal said 2004 was a “shaking and shocking” year and he believes the floods in Luzon and the recent tsunamis that killed thousands were among his predictions.

Since the tsunamis that hit South Asia happened late last year, he hopes the cards were referring to such tragedies and none of the same magnitude would hit any place anymore.

Accidents, threats

Accidents in the air and the sea, and threats of terrorism and killings are expected this year.

Since the number five also represents children and the youth, Arepal encouraged government and the society in general to guide teenagers engaged in fraternities.

“Magpakita ug nindot kung productive citizens sila, otherwise it will be a deadly year for the youth,” he said.

While the cards did not say anything about the recent salvaging of felons, Arepal warned that there will be more deaths among members of the media, especially commentators.

“Expose what is the truth. It’s up to the public to judge them (the subjects of commentaries),” he advised.

According to the Chinese calendar, 2005 is the Year of the Rooster, an animal known for being egoistic and proud.

Arepal also warned of separation of business partners and advised those with vices to stop for the sake of their health.

He said prayers should also be offered for the health of two Catholic Church leaders.
