Cebu Ferries gets ISO 9001:2000 certification
Cebu Ferries has acquired the ISO 9001:2000 certification for complying with the international standard for quality management by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
The certification was given after a series of comprehensive assessments performed by SGS Philippines, Inc. on all facets of Cebu Ferries’ established Quality Management System (QMS).
The certificate, awarded by SGS Philippines, represents the firm’s unwavering commitment to deliver services of superior quality and provide value to customers.
Covered by the certification are both shipboard and shore-based processes, which include management and operation of vessels, passage retail/ticketing, passage hotel, container yard operations, documentation and traffic, and freight sales and marketing.
Jocelyn S. Babaan of SGS Philippines awarded the certificate last Dec. 17, 2004 during the joint People Engagement Program (PEP) of Cebu Ferries and SuperCat.
Accepting the certificate was ATSC senior vice president Ramon G. Villordon, together with quality management representative Edgardo G. Nicolas, Cebu Ferries deputy QMR James Lavides, Safety and Quality Management manager Jessica Tagimacruz and Angie C. Fraginal, a consultant from ACF Consultancy.
“By acquiring the most coveted certification by countless organizations around the world, Cebu Ferries is more challenged to continually improve and relentlessly live up to its aspirations in delighting the customers,” the management said.
