Foreigner advises Bautista to be wary of Bebe’s power

WORLD Boxing Organization Asia-Pacific bantamweight champion Rey “Boom-Boom” Bautista needs to concentrate on his defense for his title defense against powerful body-puncher Vuyisile Bebe on Jan. 29.

Concerned about the future of the teenage knockout sensation from Candijay-Bohol, expatriate and long-time Cebu resident Cliff Smart, who is an avid fan of Bautista, sent an e-mail to ALA Boys handler Antonio Lopez Aldeguer about the full potential of the African challenger.

“I have received information from my South African friend Russel McArthur that Vuyisile Bebe is a very powerful body puncher and usually follows up with vicious uppercuts and hooks. Bautista will need to keep his elbows tucked in and his chin down during this fight,” said Smart.

World titleUS training

Bautista is not only putting his title and unbeaten record on the line against Bebe but also his scheduled fight in Australia in March and a possible training regimen in the US.

With his future at stake, Bautista will have to deliver what is expected of him not just to Cebuanos but also to his Boholano followers, who will come in full force to Cebu – led by Tagbilaran City Mayor Dan Neri Lim. RCM

Promoter Gello-ani is thankful to Cebu Grand Hotel and Richmond Plaza Hotel, Fighter Wine, VITESSE-Philippines, Republic Chemicals Inc., Nature’s Spring Water Resources, Lacto Vitale Healthy Drink and El Nuevo Bantay Radio for their support.

Ticket reservations are no longer available next week since most of the seats have been sold out. However, tickets are still available at authorized outlets at the USA Sports stalls in Ayala and SM , Mandaue Sports Complex and at the Islands Souvenirs outlet at the Island City Mall, Tagbilaran City, Bohol.
